This book was a buddy-read again
The review would have 2 points of view.
I did not have such a book when I was a child. So when this book arrived, it appeared wondrous to me. Just to imagine how it would have been if I had been read this story every night before sleeping. (I was read fairy tales and other stories from Indian folk tales)
The book had alternate brightly colored pages which made me long to get out the crayons and start coloring the pics.
I liked the concept which allows a child’s mind to wind up and start relaxing, knowing everything in nature too sleeps when the sun sets. There is rhythmic use of words which would calm the child’s mind, whole going to sleep. I would recommend it to be read for kids between 1 to 3.
My tiny toy niece’s review who is not even 3
She is a great connoisseur of books, knows what she wants to read, even when she really can’t.
I showed her the first colorful page and her eyes went – wow. The subsequent diagrammatic page did not produce any reaction. I asked her to show me the cow which jumps over the moon. She refused and replied – aunty, cow does not jump over the moon. Cow goes moo. You don’t know anything. Well, that is that!!
Well I couldn’t refute the truth and I realized that she needed something believable, in tune with what she is learning. (she loves Dear Zoo)
P. S She is coloring the cow which jumps over the moon.
The book is for kids for a younger age and it should be read a little earlier on so that the child gets the concept of night-time.
I am reviewing this book as a part of Jay’s Children’s Books Readathon challenge.
My rating : 4 stars
