Book Review – LV48 by Matt Doyle #BookBlogger #AmReading
Caz, my favorite P.I. is back along with her metal gargoyle Bert her artificial intelligence with another blasting case where she joins the police department to assist them after being mugged.
The story excited me and kept me on my toes to begin with. I loved the various intricacies of the plot. There was a rising tempo which matched my pulse rate. The plot captured the essence of the first two books and amalgamated with this new case where there was a pseudo vampire terrorizing the ‘good’ people of New Hopeland…
My third book by Matt Doyle, I couldn’t help but follow Caz closely as I simply loved her. I loved her intelligence, her boldness, her courage, out-of-the-box thinking, and the way she walked the world between light and dark, all straight and narrow.
The book started well and then lost me down the pages, all alone with my niggles. The plot though intricate was too drawn out. I wanted more adrenaline in the scenes (as in the previous two books, they have left me with huge expectations), but this lacked the sharp peaks of it. It took me 4 days to finish reading…(Horrors)… And the book left me with unanswered questions, I don’t like this strange feeling of dissatisfaction. I am sure it will all be tackled in book 4.
Overall, I am still the biggest fan of Caz and Bert (caw caw) and it was a good read.
I received a digital copy of the book from the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!

New Hopeland City may be the birthplace of Tech Shifter gear, but it isn’t the only place that likes to blend technology with folklore. Now, a new nightmare is stalking the streets…
When PI Cassie Tam is attacked on the way home one night, she expects the police to get involved. What she doesn’t expect is to be forced into acting as bait to lure out a lunatic in a tech-suit that’s literally out for blood. But past actions have consequences, and doing so may be the only way she can get a clean slate from the city’s law makers.
If only that didn’t mean having to face down a wannabe vampire.

Deadmarsh Fey – quite a different read, I want to read more of such genre but around 350 pages, not 700…
This is Book 3, book 1 and 2 are fab

That’s the problem with fantasy is they’re long reads. I have to knock out quicker reads frequently so I have something to talk about three times a week
