Book Review – The Four Psychos by Kristy Cunning #BookBlogger #AmReading

This new year, bright shiny and cold with a resolution of trying new things, I scrolled down the blogs till a tiny sweet bird chirped out about a mutual Christopher Paolini attraction, and then said – Try this!! I was taken aback but the adventurous soul in me said – why not… So thanks to my girl Bibi, who was the chirpy new year bird, I tried the genre – Reverse Harem… And oh my, why was it so hot while reading?!

Bibi, this is all for you 😘 suggesting this fun paranormal reverse harem with a sarky yet innocent ghost of a main character.

Wow!! I would love to use all of sexy hot expletives after reading this cracker of a book. A genre I never thought I would be trying, REVERSE HAREM, this book turned out to be soooo good.

It had my toes curling, my pulse spiking, my breaths half caught, my face flushed. Whew!! There was so much excitement in the action scenes and in the trials in Lucifer’s lairSheesh what were you guys thinking? (crackles like a witch)

A paranormal fantasy, with a sassy, sarcastic, kickass, bitchy, sexy yet innocent main character Keyla who was a ghost haunting/watching over these 4 drop-dead gorgeous soul reaping warriors too (yummy!!) But things changed with Lucifer (yep, the Lord of Hell) and his 5 children holding the trials and suddenly, the 4 hunks needed a wee bit of protection from the assassins, and who better than our friendly live-in ghost who was leveling up to be more human with each amp-up of power.

The author Kristy Cunning had me so worked up and wrapped in the story (sheesh, guys, there were only a couple of those hot scenes), the plot was so darn exciting. There were twists and turns with Keyla using her powers to zap the baddies. I loved how the author did not use sex as a main theme, the haunted (did I mention yummy?) hunks slowly came to be aware of her, they could see and talk to her, then touch her. There was attraction, but none of the guys lost track of their mission. There was this continuous to and fro zings of sensuous frisson between them. F. U. N.

I love good action scenes, and this book gave me plenty of them with giant 3 headed centipede, hellfire, acid spray, chameleon assassins, lava, unnamed creatures, and a grand party with Lucifer.

The book had it all, and I simply loved it. There were a few typos, but I turned a blind eye to them and just plunged back into the book till it ended in a cliffhanger.

I am exhausted, it is 1am, but I just have to, have to read book 2 as it had the contest designed by Lucifer himself. Excited much, I sure am!!

I downloaded a digital copy of the book from Kindle Unlimited, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!

I’m not so different from most people.
Like everyone else, I have life goals.

Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am.

Goal #2: Convince the four men I’ve been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete.

Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can’t remember anything past the five years I’ve been haunting this quad.

Goal #4: Eat popcorn.

See? Perfectly normal. Sort of.
Gotta start small, after all.
It’s not like anyone else is perfect either.

  1. I’m so glad you enjoyed this book too! I read the series just before Christmas and it just gets better and better!
Reverse Harem is my new favourite guilty pleasure – a.k.a. the ‘why choose?’ genre. Check out the Kit Davenport series next πŸ˜‰

      1. She’s a bit too β€˜perfect’ and has a lot of feeling, true – but it’s worth it for all the dudes πŸ˜„

        What’s your favourite #whychoose ? I feel like I’ve exhausted Amazon’s selection after a month long binge πŸ˜‚

      2. My favourite is the Dark Side by Kristy Cunning, the Four Horsemen by L.J. Swallow, Their Vampire Queen by Joely Sue Burkhart and Rock-Hard Beautiful by C.M. Stunich. If you need recommendations, check my blog πŸ™‚ I have so many RH reviews and they’re all listed in the top menu haha. Otherwise, I’ll happily make a personal recommendation and recommend Eva Chase’s Dragon Mates series. It’s one of the best shifter series I think ❀

      3. I would recommend you save C.M Stunich and Joely Sue for later on. When you’ve read more of the books. They’re a bit, ahh, steamy and the world is very different. Both of them include M/M scenes too. I do think they’re great, and the world building and character development weighs more for me, but there’s no denying there’s a lot of filth πŸ˜‰

      4. Hahaha cool… I will read the steamy bits later… I like story and plot more… Along with characters.. I just read a book which had sex in every other page, some kinky, some rape, some bdsm and the plot got lost… I kept searching for plot, author kept writing sex… πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

      5. Aye, the sex isn’t worth it if you loose the plot. I think the ones I mentioned are still rich on plot and characters, but to some the steamyness can be a turn off (how ironic 😜) but to me it’s okay, as long as the plot doesn’t suffer.

  2. OMG! I’ve always been too scared to try a reverse harem, but the way you describe this one makes it sound irresistible. You may have swayed me to venture outside of my box. πŸ™‚ Thanks for an engaging review! πŸ™‚ Happy Wednesday, Shalini!
