Book Review – A Paris Fairy Tale by Marie Laval @MarieLaval1 @ChocLituk @rararesources #BookReview #BlogTour #romance

Many thanks to Rachel and publisher Choc Lit for my spot on this Blog Tour.

Oh such books remind me of movies where the main leads are suspicious of each other initially, but later exploring the city and running away from the thugs while solving a mystery, they fall in love. And when such a scene occurs in Paris, the charm of the story is doubled.

My first book by Marie Laval, I was gently amused by the two main characters. Aurora was the Paleographer, hired to authenticate an ancient manuscript. Cedric was the journalist who was sure that she was part of the nefarious scheme. The author had him shadowing her down the streets of Paris, attraction slowly building between them. I loved the depth in their characterization, they had their own past with their flaws.

The fast pace of the book had me skipping along with these characters to get to the mystery. Their banter had me grinning, it was just so cute. With my craving for thrillers, this book had a great secret in the world of art which satisfied the inner thrill-seeker in me. Swift pace, great writing, lovely flawed characters, suspense and romance kept me stuck to this story.

History, mystery, romance, and fun. This book had it all and made a great breakfast read. I needed a break from life for a few hours, and this book gave it to me.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

All my reviews can be read here

Originally from Lyon in France, Marie studied History and Law at university there before moving to Lancashire in England where she worked in a variety of jobs, from PA in a busy university department to teacher of French in schools and colleges. Writing, however, was always her passion, and she spends her free time making up stories. She writes contemporary and historical romance. Her titles include A SPELL IN PROVENCE, ANGEL HEART, THE LION’S EMBRACE and DANCING FOR THE DEVIL, published by Accent Press. Her new romantic comedy, LITTLE PINK TAXI, is published by Choc Lit.

Is Paris the city of happily ever afters?

Workaholic art historian Aurora Black doesn’t have time for fairy tales or Prince Charmings, even in the most romantic city in the world. She has recently been hired by a Parisian auction house for a job that could make or break her career. Unfortunately, daredevil journalist Cédric Castel seems intent on disrupting Aurora’s routine.
As Aurora and Cédric embark on a journey across France, they get more than they bargained for as they find themselves battling rogue antiques dealers and personal demons, not to mention a growing attraction to each other.
But with the help of a fairy godmother or two, could they both find their happily ever afters?
