Book Review – Sacrificing Starlight by David Pipe @rararesources #BookReview #BlogTour #thriller
Many thanks to Rachel and Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot on this Blog Tour.
The story dealt with a missing child but then went further into the depths of abuse.
A child found with multiple injury marks was rushed off as accidental death, but there were two who didn’t believe it. The two protagonists chartered the story in different directions, one was the cop Hunter who was investigating the ring and other was the father Ben who gave off his own brand of justice.
My first book by author David Pipe, the story dealt with the darker realities of society. The main characters were gritty old souls who wanted justice in their own ways. The graphic scenes were pretty horrific to read. Short, snappy sometimes disjointed chapters made this a swift paced book.
The book started directly into the main plot without a backstory to the characters. I had to keep up with the chapters in order to remain in sync with the story. The writing did not hold its punches, it was hard hitting and rang true.
A difficult book to get into because of the theme of sexual abuse in children and the style of writing, with multiple points of view which confused the picture till the final reveal.
A different read for sure.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Time’s running out for DCI Hunter. His wife and child are missing, perhaps even dead. Unable to pursue those responsible he’s transferred to the wild landscape of Cornwall where another child has disappeared.
Alice Trevelyan’s father has his own agenda and wants retribution for the loss of his little girl and metes out his own violent justice.
Will Trevelyan help or hinder?
But can anyone in this remote location be trusted?

Sounds interesting but I couldn’t read it. I think it’s important to shine a light on any type of abuse and I commend you for reading and reviewing. I couldn’t, though.
