Book Review – Good Girls Lie by J. T. Ellison #BookReview #BookBlogger #suspense

The book was a twisted tale of girls in the exclusive Goode school. A new girl, Ash’s entry flipped the balance. And secrets overtipped it.

My second book by the author J. T. Ellison, it was predictable in its mystery. The book had a lot going for it with its secret societies, the meanness, drinks and drugs. The school gave an eerie atmosphere to the book, its characters added to the mystery to some extent.

But the suspense and buildup of the plot were missing. Compared to the previous books, this was just meh. I tried liking it, but unfortunately it kind of misted away like a forgotten fog.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

All my reviews can be read here

Goode girls don’t lie…

Perched atop a hill in the tiny town of Marchburg, Virginia, The Goode School is a prestigious prep school known as a Silent Ivy. The boarding school of choice for daughters of the rich and influential, it accepts only the best and the brightest. Its elite status, long-held traditions and honor code are ideal for preparing exceptional young women for brilliant futures at Ivy League universities and beyond. But a stranger has come to Goode, and this ivy has turned poisonous.

In a world where appearances are everything, as long as students pretend to follow the rules, no one questions the cruelties of the secret societies or the dubious behavior of the privileged young women who expect to get away with murder. But when a popular student is found dead, the truth cannot be ignored. Rumors suggest she was struggling with a secret that drove her to suicide.

But look closely…because there are truths and there are lies, and then there is everything that really happened.

    1. I really thought I would love it… I liked the beginning but in the middle I guessed the main plot. But I kept wondering why Ash wanted to fit in so much and that honor thing they went telling me about, I didn’t get that…. Maybe I need to join a secret society… Or form one? Now who would join me?

    1. You might just like it… I am not into secret societies and hazing.
I knew the book was not strong as I had read a couple of reviews in October last year, but I hoped I would still like it as my expectations were low. Somehow it kept to the okay territory and the last Reveal was quite expected. So go with low expectations, you might like it. It is not like the previous books by the author. Reminded me of mean girls movie which I can’t ever see
