Book Review – The Choice by Alex Lake @alexlakeauthor @HarperCollinsUK #BookReview #BookBlogger #suspense

My Review
The beginning of the book was chilling. A glance away from the children in the car, and someone had driven it away. Matt was left shell-shocked.
My first experience with author Alex Lake, I was completely embroiled in the story. Then came the text for ransom. What the kidnapper wanted left me speechless and excited.
The story started with a bang, and with dual timelines, it gave me the history of the couple, Matt and Annabelle. I had a few suspects in my mind, for me, the clues felt a little elusive. Armed with exhilaration, I kept tapping my kindle. The chapters were short; the pages literally flew.
The second half had a lot of action happening which kept my adrenaline on flow. There was an ebb and flow in Matt’s emotions when he thought he was close to the truth, but then the author pulled him far away. I liked how I was teased in the entire book.
I suspected many, so I could say I was right in my investigation of the identity of the kidnapper. But we all know it!! I was slacking as a Detective but completely on point as a reader. This was a read+listen book, and I enjoyed it!!
I downloaded the digital & audio version of the book from an online retail store, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

A kidnap…
Matt Westbrook only turned his back for a moment. But when he looks around, his car – with his three young children inside – has vanished.
A ransom…
Panicked, Matt assumes a car thief has got more than he bargained for, but then he starts to receive text messages: This is a kidnap. If you want to see your children again, you will exchange them for your wife.
A choice…
Matt and his wife Annabelle are horrified. They can’t involve the police, or their children will be killed. Which means they have to choose: Annabelle, or their children. Either option is unthinkable. But one is inevitable. And they have only hours to make their decision…
