My Review

A sweet story filled with romance and friendship, author Annette Hannah sure gave me a few hours of bliss when I started reading this story. But it was not all about love, but also the determination to follow one’s dreams and discover oneself.

Lucy was one such lady who wanted to provide a secure life for her son and herself. She came to her grandfather’s home while he was recuperating, to set up her own business with her best friend Abbie. The only thorn in the pathway of wedding bliss was Dominic, Abbie’s brother who didn’t believe in happily ever after and didn’t seem to approve of her wedding planning business or converting the signal box into a café to provide a unique wedding venue. Sparks flew between them.

I was happy that the author didn’t only concentrate on romance but filled her book with a multitude of characters and their lively banter. Lucy was delightful, and her love for her son Jackson touched my heart. So too was her grandfather. His antics at the nursing home had me laughing. Life at any age was for having good fun. There were some warm moments there. The characters were many, and each brought their own happiness. The description of the people and setting made the story come alive.

This was a happy book, and Dom, even with his jaded outlook, had to soon surrender to the beauty of love. The relationship developed slow, and Jackson was not excluded. in fact, there were a few tender moments between him and Dom, which brought a lump to my throat. The writing kept me well engrossed, and Lucy captured my heart and pulled me in deeper until I reached the last page.

A wonderful read, I must admit.

My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Book Blurb

Here comes the bride…

Lucy Woods has always dreamed of running her very own wedding venue. After moving her eight-year-old son to the countryside she’s surprised to find the perfect location and her best friend, Abbie, eager to help make that dream a reality! Too bad Abbie’s older brother Dominic isn’t keen on Lucy or their big idea!

As a divorce lawyer Dominic doesn’t believe in love at first sight or wedding vows, he’s seen them broken more times than he can count. But when Lucy arrives back in town, his hardened heart begins to crack.

Making her dream come true is a huge undertaking, but Lucy knows that The Signal Box Café is her chance to finally make something of her life. If only the irritating (and oh-so-gorgeous) Dom didn’t make her imagine wearing a white dress and walking down the aisle…

Can Lucy and Dominic find a way to each other this summer or will the wedding bells chime for another couple?

    • Oh wow it did? They are so erratic. Some pop up immediately and some take months. Thank you so much for liking it. You gave me moments of peace while reading… ❤️Much love to you

    • I am enjoying a lot of cozy and romance. okay, not exactly a romance, but women’s fiction. I find myself gravitating toward it more.
by the way, I found a way to make a template for my blog using the block editor. It is so easy but nobody explained it well so if you ever decide to use block editor, I am here to help, whatever I know.
