One of the freakiest books ever heard/read. Twins, one lost at sea and the other having to make a tough decision, the story was a roller-coaster ride on the ship and land, roiling in the stormy seas to the crocodile infested river, all leading to a banging finish!!

My first book by author Rose Carlyle, and I was blown away by the tempestuous workings of a human psyche which the writing had caught in the nuances of its lines. What the mirror saw reflected how we looked at the images until the truth hit us on the head. That was what had happened to Iris when she found herself alone on the ship. A decision changed her life and altered the course she was moving on.

Each page had me biting my lip in anticipation of how a lone twin could now pull it off. Many things were obvious from the very beginning, but no matter. I was on the ship with a known destination and an unknown journey. And it was the travel from Thailand through the Indian Ocean to Seychelles, then to Australia which pulled me in. Each was peppered with perils where her life hung in shadows.

The ending was slightly rushed where all the plot strings were not well tied in a pretty bow. But it could be inferred that a woman who knew how to manage extenuating circumstances would know what to do next.

The narrator was clear with distinctive voices for all characters. I liked that emotions could be expressed on the tone, building up my excitement.

A freaky ride from beginning to end.

The song below added just a different meaning to the title

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I downloaded the digital version of the book from an online store, and this is my journey down its pages, straight from the heart. STRICTLY HONEST and UNBIASED.

    • I read what I can get my hands on. Nowadays the craving for a book is gone. I am happy with what I have. A change before the world crisis where I wanted more books
