Michael Crichton was an American author, film producer, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his science fiction novels such as Jurassic Park and The Andromeda Strain. He also wrote non-fiction books such as Five Patients: The Hospital Explained and Travels. Crichton was a medical doctor by training and wrote many of his works under the pen name John Lange. Michael Crichton was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 23, 1942, and passed away on November 4, 2008.
