Book Review - For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt
I loved this book, it kept me glued to my chair with Kindle in my hand, barely giving me time to think or even take a deep breath. It was a complete enthralling ride!!
When crime hits their family, the lawyer couple, Nat and Will, starting with Nat, end up doing something which was to be almost perfect, but ultimately was not. And the story continues on with them under the microscopic eye of the investigative team, the cops finding major holes in their alibi.
My first book by author Margot Hunt, had me wondering how could they pull it off. Nat, being a criminal lawyer, was a cool cucumber. She had me astonished at her nerves of steel. At the opposite end, there was Will, trembling like a leaf and drinking by the buckets, rather always hungover, who nearly confessed.
The blurb did tell the story, but it was the writing which pulled me in with the vagaries of the scenes. It was fast paced, Will made me nearly hate him with his secret, Nat kept me riveted. The ending was almost unbelievable. Another thing that niggled me was I didn’t think Nat researched or planned well to pull it off perfectly, and she was a criminal lawyer. She could have thought of a better plan. It was slipshod.
On the whole, a fabulous thriller which had me thinking - can a perfect crime be committed?
I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Harlequin Mira, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!

Margot Hunt is the pseudonym of Whitney Gaskell. Gaskell grew up in Syracuse, New York. A graduate of Tulane Law School, she worked for several years as a reluctant lawyer before writing her first novel, Pushing 30. She lives in Stuart, Florida, with her husband and son.
On their first date back in law school, Natalie and Will Clarke bonded over drinks, dinner and whether they could get away with murder. Now married, they’ll put the latter to the test when an unchecked danger in their community places their son in jeopardy. Working as a criminal defense attorney, Nat refuses to rely on the broken legal system to keep her family safe. She knows that if you want justice…you have to get it yourself.
Shocked to discover Nat’s taken matters into her own hands, Will has no choice but to dirty his, also. His family is in way too deep to back down now. He’s just not sure he recognizes the woman he married. Nat’s always been fiercely protective, but never this ruthless or calculating. With the police poking holes in their airtight plan, what will be the first to fall apart: their scandalous secret - or their marriage?

Awesome that this was such an enthralling ride and great that it was so well written, even if Nat’s plan wasn’t the best. Great review!
