Cover Reveal – The Vagabond Mother by Tracey Scott – Townsend @Wildpressed @AuthorTrace @LoveBooksGroup #BookBlogger #CoverReveal

Many thanks to Kelly and Love Books Tours for my spot on this Cover Reveal.

Not every Vagabond is a Castaway…

Maya Galen’s oldest son, Jamie, left home eight years ago after a massive row with his parents and now Joe, her youngest child and apple of her eye, has cut off all contact with them too.

Called to Australia to identify the body of a young man, Maya is given her son’s journal. After a sleepless night she decides that the only thing she can do is follow in Joe’s footsteps and try to discover her most basic human self. Eschewing a monetary lifestyle, from now on she must rely on her physical and emotional strength to survive.

Following Joe’s hand-drawn maps and journal entries, she travels from Australia to Denmark and beyond, meeting many other travellers along the way and learning valuable lessons.

Eventually a crisis forces her to return home and confront the end of her marriage, but also a new understanding of what family, in the widest sense, really means.

Exploring the big questions at the heart of human existence, The Vagabond Mother shares territory with books and films such as Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, The Way, starring Martin Sheen, Wild: A Journey from Lost to Found by Cheryl Strayed and Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Tracey is the author of four previous novels, The Last Time We Saw Marion, (2014) Of His Bones (stand-alone sequel to The Last Time We Saw Marion, 2017) The Eliza Doll (2016) and Another Rebecca: originally published by Inspired Quill in 2015 but re-released in September 2018 by Wild Pressed Books. Tracey’s novels have been described as both poetic and painterly.

Tracey is also a poet and a visual artist. All her work is inspired by the emotions of her own experiences and perceptions. She has a Fine Art MA (University of Lincoln) and a BA Hons Visual Studies (Humberside Polytechnic). She has exhibited throughout the UK (as Tracey Scott). Most importantly, she is the mother of four grown-up children, who have astonished and inspired her.

Tracey and her husband Phil travel regularly in their campervan with their two dogs, and next year plan to buy and convert a library van as a more permanent home.

      1. Just curious, reply only if you wish. Roughly how many books do you read per week or month? I’m an avid reader ,too, but you make me look like I’m reading-challenged! 😁

      2. Jaya, I am going through some heart break so I needed something to distract me so that my brain and my eyes don’t overwork with pain. So I committed to a lot of books. I didn’t want a single moment free to cry
I read a book per day or every 2 days generally
September was overboard 83 books 😝🙈 don’t ask how I did it.
October is a slower month, November and December I would be back to normal.
        I had to
I wanted to stop the pain
