Book Review – Photographing Kate by Elle Sweet @laina_turner @damppebbles @DamppebblesBTs #BookReview #BlogTour #contemporary

Many thanks to Emma and Damp Pebbles Blog Tours for my spot on this Blog Tour.

A beautiful soothing story of romance and second chances at life. Author Elle Sweet gave me another strong heroine who inspired passion and love.

After the treachery of a two decade husband where he was thrown into prison, Kate had lost everything. She reached out to her friend Claire in Moonshire Bay. There she met with herself, the one who had been lost since long, and Zach.

My second book by this author, I was captivated by the writing. There was a healing touch in the words which bespoke of simplicity and finding oneself. Reading about Kate’s life and her energy to live life anew caused me to immerse myself in her life.

The smallest of things sometimes gave the most pleasure. At 188 pages, this was a delightful, easy read with uplifting characters set in a quiet bay and a little twist.

I received a ARC from Emma and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

All my reviews can be read here

Welcome to Moonshire Bay – the small town lakeside community that has love in the air ♥

After Kate’s husband of over twenty years is sentenced for embezzling and fraud, she loses everything and needs to start over. She decides to visit Moonshire Bay to regroup at the urging of her friend, Claire, who owns the diner there.

Knowing she needs a way to support herself, she rekindles her passion for photography and starts to think maybe staying in Moonshire Bay is her best chance at happiness.

Zach is the town attorney and a confirmed bachelor. After a scarring experience with love and almost marriage in his younger days, he vowed never to get any closer to a woman than a casual relationship.

When Zach meets Kate, the wounded look that lingers behind her smile grabs him and he wants to know her better, but Kate was burned by her lawyer ex-husband. Even if she wanted a relationship it wouldn’t be with a member of that profession.

Zach tricks Kate in order to get to know her better. When she finds out, will she understand and forgive him or will it push her father away?

    • It was a fun clean romance. A short read too. So it went well with my mood of something light to offset my despair at the world crisis. Thank you for your lovely comment. Apologies for the delay. I could get to them on my laptop which just started.

    • I know that. I enjoy all the romances you review on your blog. I don’t seem to like hot and heavy and steamy scenes anymore. So these books are perfect in between my thrillers. I have found in the world crisis, I like Women’s fiction far more.
